Due to my integrative training, I am able to use different approaches, and paradigms according to people needs and demands. My approach is based on Integrative; It means I am trained to use Psychodynamics approach, Cognitive behavioural Approach, Rational Emotive Behavioural therapy, Humanistic Approach, Existential-Phenomenological Approach and Multi-Model Approach. I am trained to use different exercises such as relaxation techniques, Guided imagery, fraction relaxation techniques and progressive muscular relaxation techniques. I choose my approach based on your problems. I use Bio-Psycho-Social Model, especially with people who have any physical health issues such as acute and chronic illness as well as long term illness. I have personal experience how the physical illnesses have affect on emotional as well as mental health beings. I am member of BPS and BACP and about to complete my professional doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy.
In first session, we will speak about what do you want from counselling and therapy, what is your goals, needs to achieve from therapy. First session will serves as an opportunity for both of us to know each other. I may be asked a brief history of your life in order to understand and formulate your case. Then, I will summarize to you, how I can help you. If you agree to continue, then we will have initial agreement about frequency and duration of your sessions.
What we discuss in the sessions is strictly confidential. In exceptional circumstances breaching confidentiality is both a legal and ethical requirement of professional practice (i.e. revealing that a child is being abused). The boundaries to confidentiality will be fully discussed at the onset of therapy. I abide by the BACP Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.Length of work Sessions generally take place once a week and last 50 minutes. I can offer both short term and long term therapy based on your needs. This will be discussed after our assessment session and we can reach an agreement based on your needs and goals.
